The HMBIA Marshal Committee does not stop its work even during quarantine. While tournaments aren’t held, the Committee emphasizes its work on improving the rules and regulations of the HMB categories that are familiar to HMB athletes and recently introduced ones. HMBIA News asked the head of the International Marshal Committee, Sergei Myasishchev, to specify the range of tasks facing the Marshal Committee.

“The time of forced self-isolation is the period when you can finally get down to putting the documentary base in order. I am sure that this applies to any field. This statement is especially true for the activities of the HMBIA Marshal Committee. A sound regulatory framework is the basis for a clear competition. Work on the refinement and improvement of the rules and regulations is ongoing. And especially now, when there was a forced pause in tournament life.”

At the HMBIA General Assembly held in Riga in December 2019, as well as at the annual meeting of the knight marshals, the main tasks in the development of the document base were identified:
reforming the rules and regulations for the duel categories included in the list of the HMBIA nominations;
revision of buhurt rules and regulations: the inclusion of the new 12 vs 12 and 30 vs 30 categories;
improving the internal regulatory framework of the Marshal Committee.

Sergey Myasishchev also said that in April, an additional knight marshals meeting was held in an online conference, where the plans for the Committee’s work during the pandemic were adjusted.

“Currently, the International Marshal Committee is actively working on the reform of the rules of dueling disciplines. Marshals make their proposals remotely using documents open to the editor on the Internet. The leadership of the Marshal Committee regularly consults with leading HMB duelists regarding the introduction of amendments to the rules and regulations. Since the beginning of April, the rules of the Sword and Shield discipline have been considered. In the near future, other dueling rules will be edited.”- mentioned Sergei Myasishchev.

The head of the Committee emphasized that, in accordance with the Marshal Committee working plan, the work on improving the rules of duel disciplines should be completed by June 2020.

Also, a special commission composed of the head of the International Marshal Committee Sergey Myasishchev and the head of the HMB Russia Marshal Committee Sergey Bogonenko conducted a review of the current rules of buhurt disciplines and made some corrections according to changes in competitive practices in sports. This concerns the rules and regulations of the new buhurt disciplines 12 vs 12 and 30 vs 30, as well as adjusting certain statements in the rules and regulations.

“The fact is that the initial version of the documents was mainly intended for use in the framework of the Battle of the Nations, and the current situation – the emergence of a large number of tournaments around the world, the appearance and development of the Buhurt League require more universality of the document.”

Another important task facing the representatives of the Marshal Committee at the moment is the formation of the internal regulatory documents of our Committee. The marshal`s rights and obligations, professional requirements and skills, the algorithm for the HMBIA Marshal qualifications – all this should be clear, transparent and expressed in certain documents.

Starting March 20, 2020, the Marshal Committee began publishing such documents. An agreement between the Marshals and the HMBIA has already been announced – a document that describes the mutual obligations of a Marshal Committee member and the organization.

Today, a document is undergoing the approval stage and has been prepared for publication, which determines the procedure for joining the Marshal Committee.

As we can see, HMB sport is developing harmoniously and improving, thanks to the coordinated work of both the fighters themselves and the effective work of the committees.
