Warrior’s Blood Social Action continues in Brazil

The life-saving initiative in Brazil is still going on. The charity event, Warrior’s Blood Social Action, where all representatives of the HMB community of the country can take part, was initiated in Brazil. This initiative was necessary because of difficult quarantine conditions in Brazil. There is not enough plasma in the blood banks all over the country  to save the lives of those who need an urgent blood transfusion. On behalf of this cause, the Knights of the Iron Rose in partnership with the Emporium of War call on all HMB teams in Brazil, athletes and enthusiasts to participate in the National Campaign, donating some of their blood, starting on June 15th.

“A little over a month ago, I learned from the local newspaper that the blood banks were below normal, and at the time I knew I had to do something; however, as the saying goes: one swallow doesn’t make a summer.

I talked with the members of the Brotherhood of Thorns (part of the Knights of the Iron Rose) and they promptly embraced my idea. We chose a date, held an event on social media and released it. It was not long before other groups joined the idea and in the blink of an eye, the initiative became national.

Each donation can save up to three lives, and often, these small gestures are the difference between life and death.

I was unable to donate, on the chosen date I was fulfilling a quarantine and recovering from the COVID19 (I lost my mother to the disease), but I intend to donate as soon as possible to increase this chain of solidarity. Therefore, the main goal for this is to show that we really care about the society we are in, and help it by any means we can”, noticed Tamires Lopes, the Warrior’s Blood Social Action organizer.

Everyone who wanted to donate blood as part of the initiative could make an appointment at the nearest collection centers. To date, 10 people have already acted as donors and another 20 have signed up for this procedure.

“A warrior gives his blood in and out of the fight”, said Thiago Silveira, an HMB fighter from Brazil.

The organizers of the action explain such a number of volunteers by the fact that due to the Covid 19 virus raging in the country, blood collection centers are not working at full capacity and cannot immediately spit a large number of donors. According to Flavio Lopes, the head of the HMB Federation of Brazil and member of the Action organizer, the blood banks can work only 40% of the normal capacity.

HMBIA News editorial office appreciates the representatives of Brazil for such an initiative and is sure that this will continue and a lot more people will have the opportunity to take part in it.
