More and more people all over Russia want to take up HMB sports! In this country all conditions have been created for those who are willing to practice HMB – you can come to the HMB Academy and start your way to this unique and tough sport. The community from all over the world learned about the HMB Academy project 2 years ago at the REKON festival, where the REKON-LECTORIUM was held. Since then, the project has grown rapidly.

As of October 2020, there are 19 Academies in Russia, while in 2018 there were only 5 – an amazing result! Also, over the same period of time, the number of students in the academies has increased. The growth rates of the Academies are as follows:

The number of HMB Academies in Russia:
2018 – 5
2019 – 12
2020 (February) – 16
2020 (October) – 19

The total number of people involved in HMB Academies:
2018 (February) – 0
2019 (February) – 238

2020 (October) – 373

In one interview Igor Kravchenko, the head of the HMB Academy project, emphasized that training the next generation of athletes is the main task of sports schools. HMB is no exception. The coaching staff of the Academies consists entirely of experienced HMB fighters, most of them are world champions in their categories. They do not just teach techniques and weapons, they share their combat experience with newcomers. Under the supervision of experienced coaches, the academies prepare athletes for all official categories of HMB sports.

In addition, a decent equipment base has been created here in order to provide the trainees with everything necessary for training: there are gym zones, equipment for practicing striking techniques and a solid wooden list for buhurts or duel fights.

Note that during the training sessions in the academies, students develop the ability to work in a team, a sense of teamwork and real comradeship, hardened on the battlefield. These are the trained and close-knit teams that will become worthy successors of their champion coaches in the future.

Athletes, who are training in the Academies, are already participating in real tournaments taking place all over the country and showing good results there, defeating more experienced rivals in buhurts and making the coaches proud of their students.
