France is taking over the baton of our HMB Soft World Championship recall marathon. French HMB Soft athletes are one of the most experienced Championship participants. They took part in the World Championship 3 years in a row.
Guillaume ANDRIEUX, the President and main trainer of the French “Les Ecuyers du Marchidial” club, confessed that his trainees were disappointed with this Covid-19 situation, but they all are planning to take part in 2021.
“Of course we’re eagerly waiting for the next HMB Soft World Championship among schools and clubs that hopefully will take place in 2021. The event in Riga in 2019 showed a very good development of the Championship, with a new fighting category of the 10-11 y.o. fighting, a good organisation (except for the lunch time), and a good location.
It’s a pleasure to go to this event. The level of fighting is high, the date of the Championship is good as well. In addition, it is very convenient that the competition takes place in the Schengen area. We’ll definitely come next year if Covid-19 situation permits it”, said Guillaume.
Also he shared that he and his athletes made friends with the staff of the Championship, especially with Ali Askerov and participants from Poland and Germany.
HMBIA News is happy that during the Championships there is always an atmosphere of friendship and support. Young participants here usually have time to cross swords for training or just communicate despite the language barrier and tiredness of fighting.
We are looking forward to the coming of the next year and hope that it will bring us deliverance from the epidemic and the opportunity to hold events again and meet with friends and like-minded people!
