Michael Tegge, Germany:  “We missed HMB Soft Championship”

The whole HMB world missed HMB Soft World Championship among schools and clubs. We organized a small marathon of memories to support our HMB Soft athletes, their trainers and families.

The whole HMB world missed HMB Soft World Championship among schools and clubs. Last year it was held December 7-8 in Riga. The geography of the tournament has expanded significantly – athletes from Germany, France, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Brazil, Czech Republic, Latvia came for World Championship medals in 2019. But due to the Covid-19 circumstances this year organizers had to cancel it. Of course, our young HMB Soft athletes understand that there are serious reasons for the Championship cancellation, but they still miss it. We organized a small marathon of memories to support our HMB Soft athletes, their trainers and families.

Michael Tegge, well known HMB fighter and HMB Soft trainer from Germany with his trainees took part in the Championship last year and confessed HMBIA News that in Germany children are still upset:

“Of course we miss the Championship this year. Our athletes are training hard for the next Championship. Unfortunately Hauke will be 18 years old in 2021, so he will not join it again. Merle, who made the girls 4th rank in 2019, is going on to train hard. We have a lot of new young HMB Soft fighters training for this sport and hopefully we can join it next time. We loved the city of Riga and the care of the organizers in 2019. Hope next time we will have a coffee machine or just the opportunity to have some coffee in the morning for the trainers  in the Championship location”.

We all hope that next year we will pass through the pandemic and return to our normal rhythm of life with HMB Soft World Championship among schools and clubs and other tournaments!
