Sergey Ukolov is planning to take part in the full plate armor battle on August 26 at the Tournament of St. George. The decision to test himself in an unfamiliar form of competition was made a year ago and since then preparations have begun.
In addition to studying the rules, regulations and sources, Sergey seriously took up the issue of preparing a set of armor.
“I decided to try out a new format of tournaments. The format, however, varies from event to event, but I think I should like it. The armor set is still not completed, and it turned out to be not the easiest and fastest thing to do. I tried sparring several times in the “wrong” helmet. The set itself turned out to be heavier than the usual HMB armor due to chain mail, but considering that plate battles are rather short in time, I am sure that I will handle it easily”.
According to Sergey, it is interesting for him to participate in all combat categories of plate tournaments, such as Padarm, Bataille de Lyon, Duels and Field of Mars. Also, Mr. Ukolov plans to try fights with different weapons. He is interested in the two-handed sword, poleaxe, and other types of weapons.
Let us remind you that in the HMB community Sergei Ukolov is called the “God of War”, because today he is a 5-time world champion in the Triathlon category, a 3-time world champion in the Longsword category, a 2-time world champion in 5 vs 5 category, world champion in the categories 12 vs 12, 30 vs 30, 21 vs 21 and 5-time silver medalist of the World Championship Battle of the Nations in the Triathlon category.
Considering his experience, endurance and desire to win, Sergey has all chances to add new prizes to his collection of medals and awards.
